About Me

An experienced aviation writer/historian, specializing in U.S. general aviation, and in the aviation industry in Kansas -- one of the chief Kansas aviation historians, and nationally known in the other category.

Assisted FAA and NASA public-information programs, and contributed to various TV documentaries. Aviation history and other writings published in many aviation magazines, national and international (including recent cover stories).

Serving as public speaker on aviation history... for various colleges, public institutions and civic organizations, and at fly-ins and airshows -- including as airshow co-announcer doing "color commentary" on aircraft and their history.

Pilot experience, FAA-certified instructor. Other technical certifications & related degree. Career work throughout aviation industry -- including multiple aircraft manufacturers, airport & airline operations.

Fascinated by the people, environment, technology & history of general aviation -- and general aviation's interaction with the history of the rest of aviation, and America, and the world.

Always eager to share what I've learned... and to learn more from everyone else.

About Me

I currently fly the Beechcraft G-35 Bonanza and Cessna 172R/N series aircraft. They are great airplanes; then again, what plane isn't? Flying is in my blood; the sky is where I want to be and more importantly where I belong.
